The Winds of Change

I have been laying low these past couple of weeks since I've been back from California. Not that I haven't had anything to say or that nothing is going on, but rather quite the opposite. In fact, there is so much happening in my life right now that I am, quite honestly, just trying to sort through it all and trying to make sense of it for myself. I've recently made some excruciating decisions that will certainly make things difficult in the immediate future, but that I believe are the best for the long run. Despite these major changes in my life, I am so excited to see how training and racing go for the next couple of seasons, and at the same time, I'm happy to be piecing together a game plan for a future career in medicine. There will certainly be plenty of emotional and financial hardships in front of me that require huge sacrifices and courage, but I am nowhere near giving up on my athletic and career goals and dreams just yet! I can only hope that everything that I'm doing right now will all be worth it in the long run, but I know that I won't be fulfilled if I don't at least try.

Up next...first tri of the season looks like it's going to be the 5150 Kansas City Triathlon on May 20th!

  1. Leanna ... you must follow your dreams. Otherwise you will always wonder "what might have been?". Go for it ... go for all of it!
